Seven years ago, an intrepid little African called Kirikou wowed audiences all over the world and revealed a French animated filmmaker of rare subtlety - Michel Ocelot. Now, the young hero of the marvelous Kirikou and the Sorceress is back, pitting his life-saving wits against supernatural and environmental foes, with just enough scares to keep small eyes glued to the screen.
From the depths of his cave, a wise old man announces to the audience that the story of Kirikou and the Sorceress didn’t do the hero justice. For Kirikou, the clever little boy who was born already able to speak, and who runs as fast as the Road Runner, has accomplished many other vital things for his village. We discover how he learnt to become a gardener, a detective, a maker of pottery, a merchant, a traveller and a doctor… whilst remaining as ever the smallest and bravest of heroes.
This multi-million dollar production, produced by Didier Brunier (The Triplets of Belleville) is strikingly realised and is delightful, inventive and captivating entertainment for viewers of all ages.
